Leather for nerds

without comments

My leather fetishism does not extend to leather articles that a man cannot wear. But I must say that it would be cool to own a computer keyboard covered with black leather. Such are sold by Wazakura Koubou in Japan.

Come to the Dark Side, I have leather pants!

Chris Wall from Ohio acts as a “worship minister” within “a group of individuals who are united in Christ”. They call the group the Center Pointe Church. On October 24, 2008, Chris wrote in his blog:

The band was incredible at practice last night, and amazingly enough we were able to pull off “Any Way You Want It” by Journey!! – - – If you haven’t been to our church, then just seeing me in tight leather pants for the Journey song should be worth the trip to come out and see us. You won’t be disappointed.

On October 27, 2008, Chris revealed that disappointment was all he had to offer:

OK, so I didn’t wear leather pants on Sunday morning, but did you all really think I would? I mean honestly, what kind of man wears leather pants?

Amazingly, in the same writing, Chris renewed the very promise he had just broken. This time, he also qualified the promise with a condition:

But I will make a deal with you Center Pointers. If we have 125 total people at our next service on November 2, 2008, I will officially wear leather pants during praise and worship. – - – If this will spark you all to invite people like crazy so they can hear God’s message, I will be willing to sport some leather pants for a morning.

Interesting, is it not? Suddenly Chris did not seem to be very concerned about “what kind of a man wears leather pants”.

So far, Chris has not revealed in his blog whether 125 persons attended and whether he kept his promise or broke it again.

I must compliment Chris: a promise to wear leather pants was a clever marketing trick. Too bad Chris used it to propagate delusional claims about the existence of supernatural beings.

A bargain?

The leather suit that Hugh Jackman wore while playing Wolverine in the movie X-Men was auctioned in California on December 11, 2008. Somebody coughed up 75 000 US dollars for the suit.

On the day of the auction, 75 000 US dollars cost 58 740 euros at Forex.

A leather idol

without comments

I probably would have not paid much attention to the Idols competition had a friend of mine not told me that one of the male contestants wore leather pants while performing.

That contestant was Kalle Löfström. He wore leather pants in the first final and the fourth final – despite the fact that the zipper of the pants gave him trouble.

The judges did not like Kalle’s performances. They were bewildered by the fact that Kalle got through week after week. “Apparently this is a children’s programme”, commented a visiting judge. “When children are allowed to vote, they vote for the cutest.”

In the fourth final, Kalle did not receive enough votes to get through. Some people thought that this happened because the fourth final took place at the last day of the month. Little girls had already made calls and sent text messages as much as their monthly quota allowed and therefore could not vote for Kalle with their mobile phones.

As far as my viewing pleasure was concerned, it did not matter whether Kalle wore leather pants or not. For me, leather clothes increase the sexiness of a man only if I consider the man at least somewhat sexy even without leather. Kalle’s appearance did not appeal to me.

However, I am pleased that Kalle performed in leather pants. You see, I believe that the more people see leather pants worn, the more rapidly negative attitudes towards leather pants diminish.
