A surprise on the catwalk
Yesterday I stumbled upon something I all too rarely see on the catwalks: an outfit that appealed to my fetishistic inclinations and could actually be worn outside the catwalk by a non-fashionista. In addition, the male model wearing the outfit was not another one of those anorectic, androgynous dolls that usually populate the catwalks but a masculine, attractive man. Oh, joy.
The outfit belonged to the Hermès fall 2011 menswear collection that was unveiled a couple of days ago in Paris. A couple of other outfits featuring leather pants were quite agreeable, too. On the other hand, the collection included also some horrible creations proving that not all that is leather looks good.

Nice! I go to work in similar outfits… But this is for fall 2011… so it seems that I’m ahead of fashion, that’s a first ;-)

Call me crazy, but the two “horrible creations” wouldn’t look all that bad as just a jacket. The idea is pretty cool (especially the off-center zipper), it’s just the full-body jumpsuit that looks a little weird.

I agree, Brandon. It’s the jumpsuit form that makes them horrible.

But there were sexy jumpsuits in the last couple of years on the catwalks! A bit of a saggy one by dsquared, and a nice sleeveless one by D&G in 2007 or 08 I think. It was cream coloured with a lot of zippers…form fiting and all. You should bve avble to find it on youtube. F/W 2007 orwas it summer 08….

Okay, if one uses the widest definition for a jumpsuit – a one-piece garment consisting of a blouse or shirt with attached trousers or shorts – them I’m sure there are jumpsuits of leather that I may like. However, “sleeveless” and “form-fitting” aren’t the first adjectives that I associate with jumpsuits. :)
